Free Disability Support Network Sessions

Friends:

This Thursday, April 23, 2020 at noon, please join our free Disability Support Network session via Zoom.

Over the last four weeks, 1,000 people have participated in these sessions to:

  • Learn how people are coping with stay at home orders and get some tips.
  • Hear the best practices for supporting people with disabilities.
  • Talk with families, advocates, professionals, people with disabilities and direct support professionals from other states and countries.

Participant feedback: "The session helped me connect to others who are passionate about supporting people with disabilities in their communities. It was a great platform to learn, share ideas, and problem solve with leaders from other states who understand the complexities of living life with a disability during these unprecedented times. The breakout rooms were most helpful."

The Disability Support Network is a volunteer effort to:

  1. Support each other and share best practices to support people with disabilities. We meet every Thursday at 12 noon EDT.
  2. Zoom Tech Support. Teach participants how to use Zoom to better support people with disabilities, families, professionals, advocates, and direct support professionals. We will share the best practices for using Zoom to moderate and facilitate meetings, setting up free accounts, using Smartphones, break out rooms and answering tech questions. We will cover how to address the recent security issues in Zoom. We meet every Thursday at 4 p.m. EDT.

Hope to 'see' you online.
