For a Day of Reflection & Action in Honor of Judy Heumann

This digital-first, full day commemoration is open to everyone, no matter where they are in their journey with disability rights learning and advocacy. Designed to engage students, educators, and the full Facing History network, this event offers meaningful and tangible ways to engage with the work of furthering disability rights and standing up for a more inclusive world.

So how can you join in? Here are three easy steps:

  1. See our list of reflection and action prompts for some suggestions for ways you can choose to participate.

  2. Choose one of our suggested actions, do a few, or create your own way to honor Judy.

  3. Then, on March 30, share with us how you are recognizing Judy’s legacy by posting on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Tag @facinghistory

To all of our educators, students, and community members—we at Facing History have always been inspired by your collective creativity, mindfulness, and enthusiasm. The way you choose to be upstanders and reflect the mission of Facing History has helped our entire community connect and grow. We’re looking forward to coming together to celebrate and continue the work of the incomparable Judy Heumann.

 Warmly,

Facing History’s All Community Read Team
